Manos del Uruguay is a special brand of hand-spun & dyed artisan yarns that supports rural Uruguayan women.  Manos is a non-profit organization that was founded to give women jobs, allowing them to be independent & support their families while being able to live in their home villages. 

Artisan hand-dyed yarns have natural color variations from skein to skein. Our team will do their best to choose the best matching skeins for your order. Here are some tips to get the best results when knitting with hand-dyed yarns:

  • Purchase enough yarn for your entire project
  • Alternate skeins by knitting two rows from one skein, then two rows from another skein. This will help to blend color differences.

It is a nice sponge holder but the tray is not wide enough and it falls. Because it was the only one I found with a spout, I am keeping it, and figured a way to stick it so the tray doesn't fall. The other thing is that the tray is not sunken enough in the middle for all the water to be routed there, and the spout doesn't always get rid of all the water inside, so once in a few days, I have to manually press it down and more water comes out.
