Origin/Distribution: Found from Vermont to Ontario and south to Georgia, Louisiana, and Oklahoma. 

Habitat: Grows in damp places in open woods (but will flop in too much shade), moist prairies, meadows, and thickets, and on stream and creek banks. 

More: The root has been used medicinally, however, this plant is a very strong laxative when used fresh, so proceed with caution. Potential cut flower. Pollinator favorite. More information coming soon.
