Scott Papper is a Graduate Gemologist (GIA), Certified Master Appraiser (NAJA), Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA), Registered Gemologist Appraiser (ISG), and Accredited Senior Gemologist (AGA), to name only a handful. Scott is a fourth generation gem and jewelry professional with experience as an independent appraiser, gemologist, jewelry buyer, pawnbroker, and expert witness. In addition to having performed appraisal services for both private clients and those within the trade, he has also been engaged as a subcontractor to assist with the valuation of jewelry and watches that have been confiscated by US government agencies, including the US Secret Service (USSS), the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and the US Coast Guard (USCG).

While tourmaline occurs in many different colors, it can also occur in bicolor or tricolor crystals. These refreshing watermelon tourmaline slices show off their unique color zoning.
These brand new earrings are crafted in platinum and feature colorful watermelon tourmaline slices dangling beneath round brilliant cut diamonds, all bezel set in platinum. Fastened by a platinum butterfly pushback. Stamped "PLAT".

Decent Shoes with Misleading Description (Not Leather)

I only look for leather when I’m purchasing dress shoes. Under the description “details” on this item it lists the shoe as leather upper and inner lining. A photo shows “genuine Napa leather lining”. If you keep reading (which I have now that I’ve received the shoes) it shows “faux leather” in the small print and that is not “leather”. I run a small leather business and this irks me because it’s clearly false advertising. The details also show the product is made in Brazil but when they arrived today, the shoe tag shows “Made in China” and “Man Made upper and lower”. I don’t hate the shoes. They look nice. What I know is they won’t hold up over time like leather, which is why the description should be accurate and not misleading.
