His contributions spanned from exquisite Madonnas and architectural designs to the monumental frescoes in the Vatican's Stanze. Although he was very much influenced by the work of Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci, he has left his own unique mark in the timeline of history. His work is breathtaking, timeless and worthy of admiration. The Italian artist's complete name was Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino, but he has become known, simply, as the one and only, Raphael. The exact date of this artwork is not known but he worked from 1500-1520. Raphael is best known as a Renaissance artist, famous for his depictions of the Maddonas, as well as his architectural projects. Although he was very much influenced by the work of Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci, he has left his own unique mark in the timeline of history.
